Update from May

Hello!

I want to thank God that the leadership training event in Rwanda went so well—praise God! Every leader from Cameroon (English and French), Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, Burundi, Congo (Bukavu and Goma), and Mozambique was eager to learn new strategies. We also had wonderful fellowship—even staying up until midnight on the last day! It was encouraging to see the leaders discuss their experiences, challenges, and possible solutions together.

Please pray that God provides wisdom and guidance as these leaders adopt new strategies and apply them to their Bible translation work. This will help improve the quality of the translations. Also, pray that we can host this kind of event annually or every two years, as it truly encouraged the leaders.

Our trip to the Philippines was a unique and powerful experience. The one-week workshop went very well—praise the Lord! Their team is entirely Deaf, and it was fantastic to teach them how to read God’s Word using symbols. For three days, we trained them, and then we traveled to a smaller town where they taught local Deaf individuals who do not know how to read or sign for two days. It was a successful outreach. Please pray for them to continue teaching and helping others understand God’s Word through symbols. Their team is also capable of starting a new Deaf Bible translation project, so please pray that this will happen.

Right now, I am working with the South Sudan team to start a new translation project and helping a new Deaf technician coordinate in-person tech training in Africa. Please pray for wisdom and success in this process.

I also want to thank God that Fernanda and Josiah are doing well—especially the baby! We’re excited to share that we’re expecting a baby girl. Her name will be Faith Mae Ropp, and her due date is July 24. Please continue to pray for Fernanda and baby Faith during this time.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!
