Praise God—the trip to Rwanda was a very special experience! I am truly blessed to witness the inauguration of the first Deaf Bible college in Africa. Many government officials attended, and the Rwandan government officially recognized the college. It will be able to serve up to 300 Deaf students from across Africa. This is one of the greatest milestones in Deaf ministry history! Praise God! The first semester will begin in the fall. Please pray that this college will be successful and become a strong foundation for Deaf Christian leadership in Africa.
I also had the opportunity to fellowship with seven directors from different African countries and receive valuable feedback on how to improve Deaf ministry—especially the Symbols program. I have worked with most of them through the Symbols and Deaf Bible translation projects, so it was encouraging to reconnect and discuss ways to move forward together. I will see them again at a conference in the Philippines in May!
We will also host a three-day workshop at my Deaf church in Atlanta to improve Symbols instruction and gather feedback. Then we will travel to Orlando to create advanced ASL video training materials. Please pray that both efforts go well.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
